Larry Mendez has more than 20 years executive search experience, maintaining a practice focus in lodging, travel & leisure since 2005. His clients include leading companies in private equity, real estate development, hotel investment and operations, third party management, restaurants, cruise lines and REITs. With a focus in C-suite leadership searches, he has successfully completed CEO, COO, CMO, CFO, CIO and CHRO for a diverse client set ranging from family run businesses to globally active public companies.
Prior to entering retained search with Heidrick & Struggles, he spent more than 10 years in Fortune 250 diversified holding companies active in railroads, timber, oil & gas exploration & production, intermodal transportation, and real estate. A Texas CPA (inactive), he earned degrees in Marketing, Radio/TV/Film, and International Management. He lives in the Dallas area with his wife, Kelly, and an uncertain number of cats. His daughter attended Phillips Academy/Andover, Yale, and works in private equity in NYC.
